"Migrants"

Seligmann, Kurt (1900-1962) - 1955c. Migrants (Private Collection)
Kurt Seligmann Migrants, oil on canvas

Windswept sheets drape over an invisible crowd,
Their shapes revealed with each gust of air,
Each shade a different tone giving each ghost clothes, a personality,
The individuality of the nearly non-existent,
The fashion of the unseen.

Such confusion felt by the poor, transparent group,
They stumble, shocked by the previously unknown visions of their surrounding companions,
Startled by their own bodies which are now visible through the folds of the sheets,
Their sheets are their vision.

Though just a glimpse, as the powerful wind blows their vision away,
The memory evokes new thoughts, new concepts,
They exist.
That paradoxical curtain introduced a view instead of hiding it away.

Things I Think About #1

Alright, just a little brain ramble. Neeeeed to start posting like, everyday to catch up with my missing stuff.

You know about the circle of life I assume. That we are born, we live, we reproduce, we teach our children to  live and then we die. Well I think this metaphor/template/whatever-it-is is flawed, mostly in the name though. It's flawed in the name because although life comes in a full circle, it very rarely is circular. A circle is a 2 dimensional, shape with no points, just a curve that swoops around and connects again and continues forever and ever. Life is a 3 dimensional entity with many different points, and it always moves in different ways; ever changing throughout generations or even just lifetimes. The circle of life makes life look horrible, and pointless. Circles having no point makes it seem like life has no purpose and/or that life is a just a boring line that never changes. Life is filled with high points and low points and it's always changing. I guess the circle of life is just a Utopian, totalitarian template/concept showing what perfect life would look like. But yeah, I guess I'm just a little peeved at the vagueness and how they would slip in the ideal that life is pointless because that's something I seem to struggle with especially since I don't really put any faith in religion. I hope these rants become less repetitive and boring to read. This one is lame. I just had an idea and I thought, "Hey Nick! Why don't you share that idea!" and then I did, but it seemed a lot more interesting in my head.

Anywho, I will continue with things of this variety.

PS- At the end of these things I feel like I need to say like "Ciao for now!" or "Signing off!" or something corny like that. I watch to much tv.
